Neofinetia hybrid Gongju is a cross between the 3 spurred white pure Neof. Manjushage and an unknown pink colored hybrid. Nice feature is the lines on the sepals, most noticeably on the dorsal here.

The first photo taken is on the right is closer to lilac whereas most photos I have seen of gongju are on the red side. Newer photos taken later are more pink.

Should give credit to Hakumin for alerting me to N Gongju in his thread “Various Neos, 2017 in Review” which strangely has had all its photos removed.

Very intereting that the Manjushage (3 spur) mutation breeds through. I know that some of the Neof. falcata mutations are more ephemeral.

N Manjushage used frequently to pass 3 spurs to progeny.

Blemish on left Petal (Viewer's Perspective)

Noticed on my 2 flowers opening so far and on a number of photos of gongju.

This may be a genetic issue.

Any comments on this from members familiar with this cultivar?

It's a result of the petals being partially mutated into a lip.

If you look at the lip of most normal neos, theres a small protuberance on the center of the lip, between the side lobes. It's that same protuberance, just not as fully developed as on the true labellum.

Thank you Hakumin. It has been bothering me.
