Potting a mounted sedirea japonica

1 Attachment(s)
Hello! I have this great mounted sedirea japonica that I picked up at an orchid show 2 months ago . In that time it has put out these two long aerial roots and a new leaf! I soak the mount nightly and spray the roots. I think I’m going to have to pot it as I will be away for several days soon. I understand it has been re-classified as a phal but has Vanda habits? I do not want to lose the roots. Any suggestions?

I have LECA and a medium pine/charcoal/perlite mix. I guess I could also leave it standing in a shallow with water like I set it up for this picture. Usually I just soak the amount horizontally and then spray the roots in the morning.

I had one of these mounted that I just dropped in a pot and added media. It worked well for years until I fried it in the Texas heat!
