Cattleya Schofieldiana 'Tesch'

Excited about this one! I've been growing it out for 2 years. Love these tall bifoliate catts. Anyone else grow this one?

The bud looks beautiful! Very nice pics.

I was debating on getting one. How do you grow it? Does it require different care than other bifoliates? I have a granulosa/velutina/tigrina and they all sort of grow similarly to me.

This one requires a little more headspace, similar to guttata. Mature canes grow up to a meter tall, so I have it in my bench area with the catasetum and lycaste.

It came from Waldor in moss in a clay pot and I have maintained that method even though I don't typically use moss on catts.

Not bad for a first bloom. Absolutely in love with this flower. Super thick and waxy and very fragrant. Smells like Dove Unscented Soap. The pink on the lip is textured.

It's quite an attractive flower. That lip color really stands out. I like your description of the scent too, which sounds intriguing, as far as scents go. Congratulations on the first bloom.
