Trimming Lepanthes Pilosella
 

My Lepanthes Pilosella has been going very strong for the past 6 months or so, and has doubled in length, maybe even more. Now unfortunately this means it hit the floor far earlier than I was expecting and I don't think it would appreciate sitting on wet capillary matting long term. However, there are 2 small aerial roots that have developed and I was wondering if these (attached) are big enough to cut into 2. Can Lepanthes Pilosella be trimmed like a kind of cutting like this, or is cutting them in half a no go?

As I'm talking about the Lepanthes, it hasn't flowered as of yet, and though I'm content if it doesn't, I'd like to know how I can get it to flower?

I would gently pick up the far dangling end and try to loop it back to the base of the plant. Pin it to the moss. It should root into the moss and start on another loop. Plus the part of the stem pointing up might branch.

I'm not familiar with this plant so I don't have an answer for flowering. Is it the correct season?

Edit: IOSPE says "This species needs, deep shade, high humidity, constant watering and fertilizer year round."

I've been hesitant on fertalizer, but the lighting is right and it hasn't stopped growing since I got it. I did fertalize about 2 weeks ago, along with the rest of the plants in the terrarium.

I think a loop back might work well, I'll measure that up tomorrow. Currently, if it wasn't clear, I've rested it on a rock to keep it off the wet at least, so its not in dire need.

Any other inputs are still welcome from others though please!

Don't be afraid of fertilizer. Plants need it. Use a small amount frequently. I hope Lepanthes growers here enter the discussion to tell us how they fertilize.
