This is a widely distributed photo of a highly select Neof. Benitengu, a pure Neofinetia considered to be the most strongly colored neofinetia. Two of the flowers appear to be missing parts. Is this an unfortunate result of the angle that the photo was taken or a generic issue of the individual?

Please don’t clutter up the thread with how much you like the plant, many of us do. Only contribute if you have relevant comments regarding the question.

It's either the angle of the photo, or the petal and tepal are still stuck together from only recently having bloomed.

May explain the one on the left, but the one on the right?

Also, taking a photo with two parts still stuck together is a most inopportune time as is a bad angle.

If the photo is the problem, when taken or the angle, the plant deserves better.

Also if the photo is the problem, why haven't better pictures been circulated?

I consider the answer unresolved and is not sufficient for me to try and obtain a division of the “select” plant.

Look closely at the one on the right. You can see the shadow of the two overlapping.

As for taking it at that timing or angle, it is what it is.

There are many other photos of the variety online anyway.

As far as other pictures, only seen those of the variety, not the “highly select” one.

That photo is a generic one of the variety pulled from the Korean association website.

It’s more uniformly and deeply colored than the admittedly few others I have seen of the variety.

If there are better ones, I would certainly be interested in seeing photos of them.

Did someone say that that was a "select" individual?

If not, are you going by a single photo, of a single blooming, from an unidentified grower and photographer, and making that assumption?

Best one I saw so I thought it was a select one of the variety, evidentially I was mistaken. Do you have a photo, if ant exist, of a select one?

Not to say that there aren't, but I am not personally aware of any particular "select" individuals of the variety.

Just keep in mind that photos can be deceptive. Even if a photo isn't photoshopped after the fact, cameras don't necessarily record the true color or appearance of their subjects, and not all screens display photos true to their original parameters.
