Prosthechea cochleata: it is not going to flower, is it?:_(
Hello,
I'm quite new to orchids, and although I have managed to rebloom phalaenopsis, paphiopedilums and dendrobiums, it's my first time with this plant. I was happy, it spent all summer on my balcony, has grown a beautiful pseudobulb, even has new growth coming, but suddenly the sheath turned yellow and withered. So, I'm guessing something went wrong and no flowers this year. Or is this normal?:scratchhead: What can you tell me? Any ideas appreciated. You never know. But I wouldn't let that plant dry out as much as you have.

It shouldn't be a problem at all, Prosthechea cochleata oftentimes blooms on dry sheaths, so I wouldn't worry too much. If it's growing well, then I think it will flower pretty soon. They sort of flower randomly throughout the year. Sometimes they'll flower in early spring, but usually I think they are heavier on blooms from summer - fall

Ok, thank you, I'll stay hopeful:nod:
