Help! Is my Phalaenopsis totally dead or there is chance to revive?

Hi everyone! I am a beginner in orchid growing and realised that my orchid seems to start having root rot after I bought back home. I believe I may have overwatered it. Currently all roots are dried up & hollow (and I have cut them off):(

Two leaves have turned yellowish & wilted, it still has 2 green leaves now. The stem is getting dried up & turning brown. Some of the buds didn’t even bloom and just wilted straightaway.

I have attached some pictures for better illustration.
I wonder if there is chance for this orchid to be revived? :(
Appreciate your kind advice !!thank you! :)

Welcome to the Orchid Board!

The roots were probably not all dead. I can tell this becaise the plant looks too good for a plant with all dead roots. Orchid roots look very different from roots on other plants. I strongly recommend you not cut off roots in the future. Most people can't differentiate between living and dead orchid roots.

Phal roots don't die from too much watering, but they do die from not enough air at the roots. Phals are epiphytes, growing on trees. They need air at the roots always.

Your plant has a chance to recover and grow more roots. Set it in a pot with new medium. Chunks of charcoal or bark work well. Keep it very humid. With no roots yet it doesn't need watering, but the humidity will help it grow new roots. It will probably lose the flowers and one or more leaves, slowly.

Look at a thread here. From the left yellow menu select Forums, then Beginners. Near the top is a sticky thread, The Phal abuse stops here.
