Neglected orchids for 3 weeks while on holiday

Hello All,

I recently went away on holiday, and left my orchids, did give them a good watering before i left.

Anyway i've been back about 2 weeks and i have noticed that some of my orchids look sick.

I did have a spider mite problem on another plant in the same room but the other plant was across the room about 6 feet away and I have cut that other plant down as i could not resolve the spider mite problem no matter what i did (6 months of trying).

I did notice some insects on one of my orchids before i went on holiday, but they didn't look like spider mites, so i just sprayed with an insecticide (pyretherin based).

Anyway 3 of my orchids now look quite sick.
Photos should be attached.

Does anybody have any idea as to what this might be?

If the temperatures were warm and the medium dried completely, I would think this is caused by lack of water. If that is the problem the leaves will continue to grow but will always have damage at the tips.

Spider mites easily travel 6 feet from one plant to the next. I find it is easier to control them by getting every surface of my plants wet on a periodic basis. This knocks the adults off and kills the eggs.

Thanks Estación Seca, that makes sense.
