Delete option

Can someone explain to me why we can't delete our own posts? This is the only forum that "prohibits" deleting of posts by the original author, and it a little shady.

Just "EDIT" and delete the content.

Doesn't work.

Put in a period. Or the word "deleted" or any other word of your choice.

---------- Post added at 10:46 AM ---------- Previous post was at 10:45 AM ----------

Or tell me what you want deleted and I'll delete for you.

I think forum supporters can delete their posts.

Okay so I tried it once before I was not a supporter, and forever after thought it wasn't allowed.

The above is just an example of deleting. Just use a single dot eg. a . symbol. And then make it a wheat colour.

Also refer to this link.

It probably isn't 'prohibits' as such. It just either hasn't provided regular members with that function or feature. For example - another good forum - 'slippertalk' doesn't have that feature as well. In fact - at slippertalk - members in general will be unable to edit their post after some given period of time lapses. There are sensible reasons for having such features at slippertalk. Orchidboard is actually more relaxed and flexible - based on majority or most members doing the 'right' thing.
