Phap Henryanum (extremely rare)
 

My 8-year-old daughter asked me why I had a photo of an orchid in the fridge under a magnet and I tried to explain to her that I am waiting for some vendor to have it so that I can buy it.

It was a very nice conversation about wanting something special and unique but not being able to have it when you want it and having to be patient.

A while later, she gave me this drawing saying "I don't think any vendor will have this orchid; it is made just for you"


(...the rare part is that it is smiling...)

Currlin have had them in stock for close to a year already and the reason I know this is because they sent my mum this plant by mistake. She's doing great with hers, luckily they sent the right plant as a replacement and she could keep the paph henryanum.

What a great, and very thoughtful, drawing! My little ones (3 and 4 years old) don't draw flowers yet but they get very excited whenever one of the plants blooms. I always let them find the new blooms first.

Schwerter in Germany has P. henryanum but as of last week isn't shipping outside of Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg and Denmark until mid March. Paph. henryanum - Orchids from the Schwerter Orchideenzucht
