First order from Orchibias-Orchids for Europe in Germany

The one advantage of being home sick with the mother of all colds is that I was home to receive my package from Orchibias! :) And orchids really are the best medicine for any ailment.

Orchibias specializes in Phals, especially the novelty types, and is a new vendor having started late last year. This was my first order, and the plants I got were pre-ordered in September and imported from Joseph Wu in Taiwan. So my review about the plants themselves says more about Joseph Wu seeing as the plants shipped out to customers shortly after arrival in Germany.

The plants were superbly packed: wrapped in paper, set in a cardboard tube, in a well padded box. A heatpack was included even though I didn't enquire about one. I loved the personal touch, there was a handwritten note from Tobias and a small package of gummy bears! I'll definitely be ordering from him again in the future.

The orchids themselves are nice and an acceptable size and look pretty good after having traveled from the other side of the world. I ordered 2 plants:
Phal. Joy Musical Notation 'Tina' AM/ AOS
Phal. Valentinii (P. cornu cervi “Dark Red” P. violacea indigo)

The Phal Valentinii may be small (plant on right), but has 1, possible 2 developing spikes (not visible in photo). Bonus: there are 2 plants in the pot!

The other Phal is one that caught my eye a long, long time ago on Orchidboard Joy Musical Notation 'Tina' AM/AOS, and which has been gathering dust on my orchid wishlist.

Beautiful plants considering their travels. And the blooms will be fantastic. I especially like the Valentinii. And please, get well soon, Camille.

get better soon! i will second your sentiments that the one order we got from orchibias was well received and the plants were and are doing great. i can’t recall exactly, but i think they sent us a nice butterfly mug with our order, and of course the required haribo!

will order from them again.

A mug, that's a nice gift! What did you order? Is that gigantea hybrid you have that's about to flower one of the plants?

hey cam, we got 2 hybrid phals from them, but no, the gigant canary came from, you guessed it, schwerter (at least 60% of our plants are from them)

What I wrote makes no sense, but I'm glad you figured it out! My brain feels as clogged up as my sinuses are....

your plant looks fresh and perky and to think it traveled for days across the globe

Camille hope you get better soon. Enjoy your treats
