Dried out roots on Cattleya seedling.

Hello all,

I have a small Cattleya seeding (only two small leaves) and I am worried I mortally wounded it.

It is in a small 2 inch mesh plastic basket which I stupidly put inside of a small ceramic terracotta pot.

It seems that this pot dried out the parts of the roots that were poking outside of the basket that were touching the ceramic.

It has a new root coming. That said, the lower third-fourth (away from the rhizome) of most of the existing roots got desiccated.

Will it be okay? As the roots get closer to the rhizome, they are still green and plump but towards the ends they are dried out and papery.

If it's otherwise healthy it should do fine. Old roots with damaged tips can resprout elsewhere.Seedlings are generally far less tolerant of insults than older plants, but still are very tough little things.
