Interesting grex name heheh.

'Dal' is David Arthur Littman -- no longer with us ----- but it is mentioned among orchid growers --- that he did a lot of very nice work with cattleya breeding in Brisbane, Australia.

This is one of the results of his nice work.

The flowers just started to open this morning. Reminds me of pink onions!

Very pretty, that light color looks beautiful.

Thanks for joining us with enjoying these flower pics Merita! I'll post some more pics when it opens up more.

These early ones has some nice light colour shades. Totally agree. It may colour up a bit, and become pink coloured.

Yes, I'd like to see once fully opened. Beautiful almost peachy color.

Merita 10-04-2021 10:53 AM

Yes, I want to see the color when the flower is fully open. Every day when I check my plants and cover them from the sun, I remember your advice that this is a hobby to enjoy not a worry to torment, as I had a plant with viruses, now I analyze each flowering with fear, fear of propagation by the insects.

Oh, this is gonna be good. If this were in a bridal bouquet it would be the star of the show. Looks to be a short plant which I like and I'm always struck by how well Catts do in gravel(or whatever that media is). Extremely beautiful.

Very nice link toward the bridal flowers imagery DeaC! This is a mini-catt, and at first, I assumed it was in the Potinara or Rth. category! This one is doing well in scoria ---- average diameter 15 mm.

But I have some other mini catts, such as Rth. Dal's Emperor, with skinnier bulbs, which don't do as well in with big pieces, and better with small pieces - maybe more susceptible to dehydration ------ these one with skinnier pseudo-bulbs.
