Some blooming species
I'm not sure if there will be many blooms to enjoy for the rest of the summer; most of my plants were toasted when I moved, then decimated by slugs, and now spider mites are taking on the remaining buds.
Hopefully some flowers will pull through, I'll update this thread as they mature. Here's a Phal bellina f. coerulea: https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/...9ade795a_k.jpg And a Phal lowii. The spike was broken and this flower was squished during transport but thankfully the remaining one develops normally: https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/...123e87a8_k.jpg |
very nice,
your coerulea actually looks exactly like mine when it flowers but mine was ravaged by mites, most likely worse than yours. I don't blame them, the Bellina is delicious  |
lovely...and delicious is a perfect description!

Love the Bellina, beautiful blooms |

Weeeell this bellina is probably going to die, it didn't like the heatwave very much. Time to get the tissue culture equipment ready for emergency cloning. Quote:
What are your perfect 3 Phal? |
Sorry about your phal bellina. It is beautiful.

How hot was it?

40°C (104°F) ambient temp with full sun. The problem is that the transport crates I used were dark blue plastic. I put them aside on the balcony to unload the car, and in the meantime the sun moved just enough to hit the boxes and melt their content. |

The 3 it is just an expression within new hobbies and referred to 3 of the Genus group and popular species; parishii Japonica lowii Bellina ( or any violacia) ++ ---------- Post added at 12:30 AM ---------- Previous post was at 12:26 AM ---------- :( BTW I also damaged a Sweet Memory... |
Ouch. If it wasn't too long the crown may survive. I've done that here.
