Hi guys!

Maybe you can help me to find the perfect BD Gift.

Requirements:

1) Can adapt to different conditions, but mostly cold to warm and humid (even terrarium).

2) A pretty plant that could be decorative with an elegant structure, even without been in bloom.

What would you recommend?

And, if you have a picture or a link will be great.

Size limitation? Mediocalcar decoratum is a neat-looking plant which gets covered in little red and yellow flowers when it blooms.

Pretty easy to find in the US, but I know that you have challenges in finding some of the more obscure plants. But this one is highly adaptable.

Neofinitia maybe?

checking out his site his latest article recommends to grow cymbidiums behind a curtain in the dark... Not sure if I misunderstood the growing in the dark part.

My cymbidiums are in a west facing window with no curtain, why the curtain??

ps, incidentally cymbidiums fit all the criteria above but they do get big

Some of the Paphiopedilums have really attractive leaves - the Maudiae types grow under conditions similar to Phals. Or Paph delenatii and its hybrids (such as Magic Lantern) that are more warm-intermediate. Disadvantage is that they grow slowly and a long time between blooms until they get substantial. But certainly attractive.

Paph Armeni-white can grow either warm or cool. (Opens pale yellow, then turns white as flower matures)

I would think in Mallorca you could grow certain Vandas, Cattleyas, and Dendrobiums outside all year.
I was going to suggest Vanda falcata as well.

Any or a mix of several different varieties of tillandsia.
