It's Alive!!
Since moving into the basement a year ago I have been able to maintain an average 80% humidity and I have noticed a boom in moss, fungi, and ferns. I even have a few pots where the sphagnum moss is coming back to life. Spending more time pruning moss these days but I like the look and believe it has a symbiotic relationship with the orchids.
Last one is a hoya that grows in the basement. Although this one has stayed very small, other hoyas have vined all over the basement along with vanilla planifolia |
Wow Clawhammer! That's some ridiculously crazy moss you have going on there! Moss and lichens and toadstools, Oh My!
Speaking of hoya... I have one in my sunroom that's pretty much taken over...crawling over and around windows, up walls, and venturing onto the ceiling. It almost makes me want to sleep with a nightlight. |

Has your hoya bloomed? That one is in spike/bloom and it smells amazing! (honey and hyacinth to my nose) Hoya pubera |
