Keiki help!
1 Attachment(s)
I have a eplc Volcano trick. When I bought it I thought it had 2 flower sheaths.....waited a few months and found out that they both appear to be keikis....which are also definitely blooming.
My question is since they are growing right from the center of the original cane, how do I remove them when they are mature enough? I don't know if I can cut low enough with out removing the leaves from the original cane, just don't know if that would be bad to do Also is there a reason that the plant would produce 2 keikis this way instead of flower spikes? |
Congratulations! It looks great.
Sometimes they just do this. When the roots are about 2" / 5cm long you can snip the keiki off the parent growth. You don't need to be too careful; that growth won't flower again, and the small wound will heal quickly. It would not be a problem to take a leaf when you remove it. |
