phaph identification
Hi! does this phaph look like the one at this link? :
leparadisdesorchidees - Information detaillee sur l Orchidee This was my first phaph, that I bought before I realized people kept the Identification tags :P http://www.orchidboard.com/community...s/DSC02238.JPG (the 'slipper' part is actually longer than it appears in my picture) anyways, I remember seeing 'philippanese' as one of the parents. Thanks!! |
It sure look like Philippinense crossed with a cochlopetalum, though it is difficult to say which one.
It could be a Paph honey (philippinense x primulinum) though other crosses are not out of question, like Paph judge Philip (philippinense x Pinnochio) or the one you listed. |
Since it came from a long time ago, it is probably Honey, which I have as well. It can be darker or even more yellow, depending on the parents and the ambient light. It should bloom for a long time, consecutively (one after another). My experience is that this primary hybrid is pretty tough, although it does not like dry conditions, getting spider mites really easily.
