Ctt. Porcia 'Cannizaro'
3 Attachment(s)
Despite thread topic title originally saying Portia ----- the correct spelling is Porcia, with a 'c'. And 'Cannizaro' is correct ---- with one 'z' and one 'r'.
It turns out (despite some internet sites showing it) there is no such orchid at this moment called Ctt. Portia 'Cannizaro'. There is out there at the moment --- only Ctt. Porcia 'Cannizaro' - even though there is such a grex called Portia --- just that there is currently no cultivar named 'Cannizaro' from the Portia group. Budding once again. So sharing some nice bud pics - and flower pics later once they open. I have read in the past that 'Cannizaro' may well be a "Typhoid Mary" (as in all of them have a virus of some sort). Athough - I still grow it among my other orchids! I've never seen virus effects on any of my orchids - so hopefully stays that way. That thing's a beast, huh? Those pseudo's look like they're almost 3' or is it just the angle?

I don't usually do measurements on the orchids - but took a tape measure just a moment ago to get some length dimensions. Approximately 40 cm bulb from the part where it comes out of the rhizome --- to somewhere around the attachment point (base) of the leaf. |

One more nice pic captured this morning - taking good advantage of the sun for the illumination.

That’s lovely! Wish I could grow big plants like that.
