Slc. Orquidacea's Small Fortune SVO7489
2 Attachment(s)
This is a first bloom seedling of SVO7489, Slc. Orquidacea's Small Fortune (Lc. Trick or Treat 'Orange Magic' AM/AOS x Slc. Kagaribi Dawn 'Red Star'.) It is properly called a Cattleyanthe (Ctt.) and its parents are Ctt. Trick or Treat and C. Kagaribi Dawn. There are two flowers. They are about 3" / 7.5cm across, and the lips are 1.75" / 4.3cm long.
Attachment 151033 Attachment 151034 It came to me in a 3" pot the first week in November. The flowering growth initiated after it arrived and grew steadily through the winter. The flower spike wilted when I was out of town into its current looped position, but the buds lived. I didn't want to risk the spike by training it upright as it grew. |
Very, very nice! Congratulations!

Love it. It looks like Jewel Box Orange.

That's a very nice one, the color is so cheerful! At first I thought that 'small fortune' was referring to the amount of money you had spent on either this plant or at SVO in general! :)

love it

I've had Trick or Treat for about fifteen or so years. It's still one of my favorites and never disappoints. Good cross.

Seedlings are of course a little smaller when first released in February, compared to the same crosses bought in November after months more growing in Fred's care. But as many here have commented, a lot of seedlings that just arrived in 3"/7.5cm pots are in spike. |
