Vanda fell off brokwn roots

Hello. My vanda fell pf the hanging stand (dog pusged the satnd and it tripped. A lot of roots broke of completelly and broken leaves got damaged pretty bad aa dog chewed on it
I took broken leaves off and saw six new root eyes so I used a little sphangnum mosa around the stem where eyes forms. Is it a good idea? I have very dry air so I think sphagnum will be dry in a day.
Also what do you guya think of the root system left? It has a lot of growimg tips (ai counted 22).
Any advice will be appreciated very much!

With all those growing tips, I think that all will be fine. Roots look great. There are plenty of good leaves to "feed" the plant, too. Now, just to keep the Vanda and the dog apart...

Thank You Roberta, you really calmed me down. What about sphagnum mos ok bare stem where new root eyes are forming?
P.S. vanda it’a now put of reach of my evil dog!

I would not wrap the stem in moss like that. Instead I would wrap several roots instead.

If your stem rots thats your orchid gone. If a root rots, the plant will discard it and prevent the infection reching the stem and carry on with the remaining 21 roots but the plant only has one stem, once that rots there is no saving it.

I would agree with OT that wrapping the stem is probably not a good idea. It looks to me like the roots are in great shape (and you mentioned that there were lots of green tips). If you lost a few, there are still plenty to sustain the plant. And even where you lost root tips, Vandas often develop branches of roots, especially when the roots are healthy. Losing some lower leaves isn't going to hurt things either.

Something I've seen is spanish moss draped over roots to conserve humidity. I haven't gone that route but seems to work and looks attractive. :twocents::waving
