Guarianthe bowringiana var. coerulea 'Blue Smoke'
 

I have 1 species and 2 different coerulea varieties of bowringiana and this is by far my favorite.

You might be correct! The other one I have is "'Blue Angel' and the only difference is the lip is a bit darker on 'Smoke' which is why I like it better I think. It gives it better contrast.

When I look in OrchidWiz, 'Angel' is listed as var. coerulea and 'Smoke' is not. Fascinating because when you put them side by side, other than the density of the lip color, they are identical.

However, elsewhere such as Normans's Orchids and a few others I found, clearly list 'Smoke' as var coerulea.

Wow. That flower doesn't look anything like any of my bowringiana's. The new growth starting up right under the flowers looks right though. Very interesting!

Wow the colour on the 'Blue Smoke' is intense! Very nice.
