Hi, I'm new here. Does anyone know what this string like growth is? I thought a flower spike, but it hasn't grown or done anything. It grew about the same time the growth its attached to started growing.

I can't see it very well. It might be a piece of the normal sheathing tissue that surrounds a developing pseudobulb. The sheathing dries out to a papery brown with time.

It's a small root.
