C. Jungle Hotspot 2010 x Rlc. Sun Spots 2009 seedling first bloom
This is my first "Cattleya" to bloom. Yeah!
https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/...330e4a19_k.jpg https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/...162f70bb_k.jpg I bough it from Sunset Valley Orchid (7564) as Slc. Jungle Hotspot 'SVO Splash Spots' x Blc. Sun Spots 'Sandy' AM/AOS. With the new nomenclature, I think it is C. Jungle Hotspot 2010 'SVO Splash Spots' x Rlc. Sun Spots 2009 'Sandy' AM/AOS and I don't believe the hybrid has a name yet. |
That is spectacular! You are right, it hasn't been registered yet.
|
Well you picked a nice one to start out with!!!
|
totally striking!!
|
The colours of this one is super vibrant. The colours are saying ----- put your eyes on me!!!!!!!
This is even more colourful than the Rlc. Waiane Leopard. Very nice. |
Very unusual & interesting.
A mix of two different breeding lines, which resulted in sepals going one way and petals/lip going the other way. If anyone else blooms one of these, please add photos. |
Beautiful!!!

That's VERY beautiful!

Thank you all for the compliments!
@DirtyCoconuts: I got very lucky with this first seedling. Hopefully the other two I bought at the same time will turn as interesting. @Fairorchids: I am curious as well. While waiting for the buds to develop and open (it took so long...), I tried to find pictures of some of the siblings online but the only one I could find is that from SVO's website (Sunset Valley Orchids - Superior Hybrids for Orchid Enthusiasts). I prefer the smaller spots on the sepals and the greater amount of white on the petals of mine... |
You should send a photo of yours to Fred Clarke. That outstanding flower might just inspire him to register the cross (if he doesn't have it process already)
