My Beallara Ysabella Lunar Eclipse's Flower petals oddly bending backward

Hi again, I have a Beallara that I recently purchased and when the buds opened the flower petals are bending or curling backward. I keep my humidity between 55 and 65%. I also keep it 75 degrees during the day and 66 degrees at night. I am just curious why this would happen? I have yet to repot it because it is fairly new. It has almost been a week since I bought it.

Reflexing of the petals like that is just something that some plants do. It could be just a change in environment, the next blooming the flowers could be more flat. Or not... some are genetically predisposed to doing that. So see what it does next time. I don't think there is anything special that you could do to change its behavior. But the color and pattern are lovely!

It’s common for those hybrids to open recurved and then straighten out. I have a ‘winter wonderland’ open at the moment which spent several days with the petals/sepals curving backwards, but now the flowers are quite flat.

I think maybe it’s more common among hybrids with long, thin sepals.

‘Orchids do everything slowly’.

Well that is a relief to know. I thought maybe it was something wrong with it. Thanks and let's hope they straighten out. It has such a beatuiful flower. The pictures I posted shoes the red from my grow lights and makes the plant look not true to its color. It is white with a purple outline and dark purple in the lip.

I have a few plants of similar ancestry, and when I got them in spike, they had a tendency to do this. Maybe it was the sudden change in growing conditions. However, on subsequent bloomings, the flowers presented much better with very little reflexing of the petals and sepals.
