Too much humidity for phals?
Hello fellow phalaenophiliacs,
Should I be worried about a too humid environ for my phals? They are in about 60% RH in pebble trays in my apartment. However, it is still early spring (read winter) in Chicago and too early to open the windows, so I expect by summer for the RH to get much higher. I know they are pretty forgiving, but should this be a concern? Thanks, - John |
Phalaenopsis actually like high humidity. 60% or more is excellent but it is necessary that there is air circulation so fungal diseases don't become a problem

There's never a problem of too high humidity for phalaenopsis, only too low. What you need to be concerned about is air circulation, as rots can easily occur when humid air is not well-circulated.
