Certainly is glorious. Well done. Is that just paper you've lined the basket with? Have read folks do this.

Thanks! It’s paper bark from Melaleuca quinquenervia

Cool!

How do you use it? Just line the basket?

philiplowrey 07-13-2020 11:05 PM

I line the basket with a layer equivalent to about 4 sheets of newspaper thickness. Then I fill with potting mix (which for me is sphagnum/perlite/charcoal). The paperbark is just to keep the potting mix from falling out of the basket, while allowing the flower spikes to poke through (they are pointy on the end, and cut through the paperbark no problem).

How do you access this bark? Works so well for stans.

They grow all around San Diego, and drop bark continuously
