Cattleya tigrina Alba
|
Pretty. Those are sturdy looking flowers.
|
The sheen on those olive green tepals is very nice. And great contrast between the green and white.
|
I could be wrong but isn't this C. tigrina?

the sheath looks green to me but my eyes could be deceiving me. Either way, absolutely beautiful alba form! |
yes i think it's tigrina

From this link here, somebody's guttata (or at least they say it is one) - appears to have flowered from both a dried sheath and a green sheath.
But - on the other hand, it's possible that their very last photo on the page is of a different plant, and is not a guttata. I think the best bet is to go with the AOS article - as in tigrina flowers from a green sheath, and guttata flowers from a dried sheath. Although - I wouldn't be surprised if there happen to be exceptions heheh. |
