My orchid is on its deathbed!
 

I decided to repot my Phal about a month ago, and when I uncovered the roots they were pretty much all dead and dry, but the leaves up top still looked good. I repotted it hoping that it would recover but I just checked yesterday because the leaves started to look shriveled and dehydrated even though it was getting water. The roots were completely dead and there was nothing left! Luckily there were new little root buds just starting to come, but I don't know if they're healthy because I poked one and it broke over super easy.

New root nubins will break fairly easily. My thoughts would be make a small greenhouse out of a clear plastic bag by enclosing pot and all in it. Poke a hole or two in it for circulation, and put it in a warm, shaded spot. Avoid direct sun. Keep the medium fairly dry, but humidity high. With rew roots starting, you might have a good chance of saving it. Good luck, and keep us posted.

Hello zazz! :waving I have a phal in the exact same condition, well, sort of, is been amost 3 weeks since the horrible finding of almost no roots.

The guys here at the board are wonderful and super savvy, one of their recommendations for my phal was to "sphag-n-bag" it putting the whole chid in a clear plastic bag (i.e ziploc) with a little damp moss (not in contact with the plant) and let it sit in a warm shady place, until nature does its thing and new roots grow.
