Cattleya yellow leaf - light or water issue?
1 Attachment(s)
Hello!
I just got this cattleya a couple weeks ago and one of the leaves is slowly going yellow and starting to wrinkle slightly. I had it in medium bark only and it seemed to be drying out too quickly (despite 70% humidity), so I repotted with a mix of medium and small bark, LECA and pumice stone. I’m growing it under a full spectrum T5 LED but I can’t seem to get accurate light readings. Currently it measuring 13,000 lux around 6 inches below the lights - which is about how far I have it positioned above the leaves. From what I’ve read, cattleyas need around 30k lux, so I appear to be low on light. I recently lowered the lights though and since I don’t trust the reading, I am concerned I could actually be overdoing it with the light? :hmm Any thoughts based on what you you see? Perhaps someone also has a suggestion for a good T5 LED with reliable light levels? Attachment 145240 |
That colour looks just fine there. In fact - looks very good.

It looks fine. Most Cattleyas (not all) grow and flower best with somewhat yellowish leaves.
