No I.D. Denphal in Bloom!

This is my no ID dendrobium phalenopsis type that I purchased from a local nursery around a year ago. This is the second time it's rebloomed for me since the initial spike I bought it with.

One of my most frequent and dependable bloomers! I can expect a spike at the beginning of summer and beginning of winter. This time I have 6 flowers which smell vaguely floral with a hint of honey.

Even though it was nearly rootless when I purchased it, it still continues to bloom beautifully! You can see the two smaller new canes it has produced. Luckily the newest one gave me LOTS of new roots, so I am hoping for larger growths in the year to come :)

When out of bloom and in spike this orchid sits in front of an East window and receives fertilizer biweekly. When in bloom, it sits under a bright skylight. Stays in bloom for approximately 2 months, and blooms for me twice a year!

Nice flowers. Why the support for the cane?

The plant was rootless when I bought it a year ago and just started producing new roots about a month ago. Since denphals are so top heavy, and it didn't have a root system to provide support, the cane needed extra support so it wouldn't fall over. Keeping it staked also makes the plant not move around as much in its pot when I pick it up to water it, so the new roots don't get damaged :)
