Cycnoches pendactylon

I just ordered 3 seedlings of Cyc. pendactylon from ebay. I looked up this species photo and I think it is stunning. Never had true seedlings, as in deflasked this spring.

Any tips on watering and light? From my understanding, these are young enough that they should not dry out like older plants during the winter.

Post a pic!

If you haven't seen it, Fred Clarke has a little write up on deflasking catasetums and seedling care:

Looks like you'd want light at about 1000 FC. For water you want them moist and drying out slightly (but not completely) between waterings.

It DOES sound like they should still have a winter dormancy, but that it should be "short".

Hopefully someone can chime in with more hands on experience.

I will when I get the plants.
Here is a pic of the flower I found on a Google search.

I have never had such a young plant. I hope at least 1 makes it to bloom size. Not a bad deal though on ebay. 3 plants for $25 plus shipping. I got them from laorchidsjohn. He has 100% rating so fingers crossed. Expected delivery is Thur-Sat. here's to hoping it is Thursday.

I’ve purchased from there once. A similar three seedling tray.

Arrived very well passed and healthy plants.

I killed one. But I don’t think it was anything the seller did. Just shipping shock and then random chance

Good luck. I bet these will be sweet

I've read there PDF from Fred.

Sounds like there not much more to it.

DC-glad to hear you had a good experience from this seller. I ordered 3 for the reason that they're so young and chance of them dieing are high.
