Beallara Marfitch "Howard's Dream" Wrinkled Pseudobulbs
3 Attachment(s)
Hi everyone, I got my very first beallara at the beginning of April 2020 and it came to me in spike. I repotted the orchid into mostly sphagnum moss with a little bark. The roots were healthy and i did not break any in the process of repotting, however, the pseudobulbs seem to be getting more dehydrated every day, despite the fact that I have not let the orchid completely dry out. Does anyone know what is happening? I am not sure if I should water it today because the media is moist but the plant is not hydrating itself. Also, a few of the flowers were formed incorrectly- the bottom sepals never separated. Is there a reason for the incorrect flower formation? Or does that just happen sometimes? Thank you everyone!

A picture would be very helpful.

Stunning flower.
Is it still in spike or is there new growth? I have seen several of mine get wrinkled like that as new growth is coming in, I assume bc it is devoting the energy to the new growth. What was it potted in before? Maybe the adjustment is making her grow new roots |
She is still in flower and she went from sphagnum to mostly sphagnum and a bit of bark. I’m thinking maybe she is either putting a lot of energy into her blooms or just trying to readjust to her new pot, hopefully she will plump up again soon! In the picture you can see one of the flowers where the sepals didn’t separate- do you know why that happened and if it will continue?
