Lots of winter minis
I’m sure I forgot a few, and I gave my Scaphosepalum it’s own thread;), but here are some of my little ones that have bloomed over the last couple of months. Enjoy!
A very young Dendrobium peguanum. Nice, long lasting flowers on this little thing https://farm66.staticflickr.com/6553...45cd4255_z.jpg https://farm66.staticflickr.com/6553...8343f256_z.jpg https://farm66.staticflickr.com/6553...b75d7efb_z.jpg Dendrobium bellatulum. A terrible grower in my conditions but at least I got a couple of blooms out of it https://farm66.staticflickr.com/6553...fb88f05e_z.jpg The forever in bud Haerella retrocalla https://farm66.staticflickr.com/6553...c34cbab6_z.jpg Big flush of blooms on my Maxillaria variabilis. Was lucky to have some cold bright weather while the buds developed so it bloomed out nice and dark https://farm66.staticflickr.com/6553...7c5e8c56_z.jpg https://farm66.staticflickr.com/6553...c0d6eac9_z.jpg An adorable Lepanthopsis astrophora. Love those tiny star shaped flowers https://farm66.staticflickr.com/6553...a9076f0d_z.jpg https://farm66.staticflickr.com/6553...55e76c8b_z.jpg Lone bloom on my Maxillaria sophronitis (or what ever it’s called now...). I do think I see more buds developing, though. Fingers crossed. The color on this flower is unbelievable https://farm66.staticflickr.com/6553...ef1106d0_z.jpg Mediocalcar decoratum. Only about a dozen blooms this year but, man, this is a cute one https://farm66.staticflickr.com/6553...82b9831c_z.jpg Sophronitis cernua. Still only getting two flowers per spike on this young plant, hoping for more next year https://farm66.staticflickr.com/6553...58d883ea_z.jpg https://farm66.staticflickr.com/6553...426ee847_z.jpg https://farm66.staticflickr.com/6553...30045fdb_z.jpg Isabelia (Neolauchea) virginalis, first time bloomer and it does surprisingly well in my climate. I love the basket weaving on this one https://farm66.staticflickr.com/6553...72f03ae6_z.jpg https://farm66.staticflickr.com/6553...e1c93cef_z.jpg Isabelia (Neolauchea) pulchella. Another one that’s doing surprisingly well in my conditions. Only 9 flowers, none open at the same time (*sigh) but I’m still trying to figure out the best lighting https://farm66.staticflickr.com/6553...2a39bc5a_z.jpg https://farm66.staticflickr.com/6553...7ee0ba90_z.jpg Promenaea riograndensis. This is a newish one but so far so good. I really like the foliage that all of the Promenaeas have https://farm66.staticflickr.com/6553...a227f04d_z.jpg https://farm66.staticflickr.com/6553...e0190a46_z.jpg Not entirely sure what this one is. It was sold to me as a Hexisea bidentata but I have my doubts. Cool growth habit though, it climbs and creeps and grows in all directions so you can get a nice big clump in so time https://farm66.staticflickr.com/6553...753f837d_z.jpg |
i love them! the colors are just so vibrant. :D
---------- Post added at 07:53 PM ---------- Previous post was at 07:49 PM ---------- the coloring on the Maxillaria variabilis and Lepanthopsis astrophora is especially eye-catching. |

Thank you all! The pics are just on the ol IPhone and I use one of those clip on macro lenses for the closeups. Not fancy, not the best, but it works pretty well if I can keep my hand steady:lol:. I would like to get a proper macro lens for my Cannon eventually for those crystal clear shots
|
Well done! I love the shots where you can see the pot with a hand for scale and it is mind bending to see the size
