Seeking a Phal Sweet Memory ‘Liodoro’
Hello All,
I am having a really hard time tracking down a Phal Sweet Memory ‘Liodoro’ for sale. Orchid shows don’t happen in my area, so I am rather limited to online. Any vender recommendations who may have the Liodoro available? Thanks! |
The only one I’ve seen for sale recently is on eBay: Phalaenopsis in Spike Liodoro Sweet Memory Fragrant Bare Root Large Phal | eBay . No idea on the seller but they look like they have good ratings.

Just a note when you're looking for a specific cultivar of a specific hybrid... A specific cultivar is a (theoretically) exact genetic copy of the original plant - a clone. The cloning process can create a lot of plants, but not an infinite number. If those clones sell well enough the originator may produce another batch (if the original plant is still alive at that point, it can be cloned again... clones of clones eventually start to develop mutations)
The hybrid itself (multiple plants, multiple cultivars) are in the same category - a finite number, eventually they sell out. A "remake" - either with the actual original parent plants, or with other plants of the same hybrids or species, may or may not produce something that looks like the original (different children of the same parents look different) So... these are living things, not manufactured items. When they're gone they're gone. |
In the EU there are several places that have them... in fact, the last time I went to the main vendor where I buy my orchids, there were several for sale.

I believe Hausermans had one. It would be worth checking their web site.

The liodoro is available in lots of places in Europe. I could carry on the same vibe as Roberta and come up with my own theory that europeans like nice things, that is why america has run out. Complete and utter nonsense like usual. |

How is Roberta supposed to know that it's extremely common in Europe and is a mass produced clone? Her comment is relevant when someone is searching for a specific 'one off' clone/cultivar. |
Thanks for all the help everyone! My biggest problem is I hate spending so mush on each orchid. Plus I buy more for the adventure than the blooms, so I usually buy one year old orchids or younger for 20 bucks. I just haven’t been able to find anything but the $100 eBay option for this particular orchid.
I have found a couple EU growers selling them, but it didn’t look like they would ship to the US. Has anyone had luck with that? |
