Polystachya concreta
This is a cute little thing that grows everywhere in our southeastern forests. The showy species are the African ones; ours are sort of green/creamy, like this, with small, non-resupinated flowers as is characteristic to the genus. The flowers may be tiny, but large specimen plants (and by this I mean a plant fitting a 3-4" pot) can give hundreds of flowers!

Mauro,
I am pretty sure this one is actually Polystachya foliosa, which is restricted to Central and South America and the Caribbean. Surprisingly, I don't see any record of it in Africa like Poly. concreta! Very nice growing and captures! :) -Pat |

As to the African records for Polystachya concreta I may have induced to a mistake when I said 'the showy species are the African ones' right after the phrase where I was talking about P. concreta. My fault. I intended to say that the genus has its showiest species in Africa. Sorry. |
An amazing plant!!! Wonderful.
