What is that growth on my phal

I received a gift orchid from a friend and it has something very strange attached to one of its flower
petals. Any idea what it is and should I try to remove it?

When you start a new thread, there's a little paperclip in the tools section. Click on it to start. Or at the bottom of the screen you type in, under the "Additional Options" you can click on "manage attachments." It opens up a little window where you can upload pictures. (same thing when replying to a thread, click "Go advanced" first, then look for same things.

A caveat... wherever you're loading the picture from, it needs to stay there if you want it to stay in your thread. Or you can load it to your Albums (found on User CP red button at top by Forum Menu). Holler if ya need more help with it. :waving

Dea was correct - what you have there is the pair of pollinia from a flower, with the little stipe connecting it to the sticky viscidium - the part that should stick to an insect backing out from a blossom, but somehow it got attached to a flower petal, instead.

Bravo Dea! I hadn't a clue.

Dea and Ray were absolutely right! The google picture matches perfectly! Thanks, you smart people!
