I have a Cattleya Dinard 'Blue Heaven' AM/AOS. It has 3 sheaths all with buds in them. 2 of the sheaths are dry one is still green but open a little. Am I supposed to cut the sheaths to allow the buds to get air and light? This is my first catt just wanna do right by her I have no idea what to expect.

Don't mess with dry sheaths until you know the plant a bit. Many Cattleya will push nice healthy spikes from dried up, "dead" sheaths. And there's no reason whatsoever to mess with a green, healthy sheath.

I find that my catts are very self sufficient and I don’t touch them at all except for watering.
If it is a new plant, I’d just watch and get to know her before meddling.

I’ve lost a lot of buds to various errors but I always err on the side of less involvement.
