Spotted Cattleyas, 2019, 2020 & 2021

I think I have posted on this subject before. Here are 3 flowers, from left to right:

C. loddigesii
This is a mature plant, which I traded for. I knew it was going to carry some spots, but to my great surprise it is also a 4N.

C. Caudebec 'Linwood' (4N) AM/AOS
I had this plant pre-freeze. I recently visited Waldor Orchids, and re-acquired this clone. Since this plant is just barely blooming size, it only produced 4 flowers on this spike (I bloomed it's predecessor with up to 11 flowers per spike).

(Rlc. Sun Spots 'Solar Spots' x C. Katherine Clarkson 'SVO' HCC/AOS)
This is the latest spotted breeding from Fred Clarke (Sunset Valley Orchids). This flower does not have perfect shape, but it is much larger than anything I have seen previously, and the spots are well distributed.

While I usually do not breed with Cattleyas, I could not resist pollinating the loddigesii with the Caudebec.

lovely. do you think the shape of the bloom of the third one will improve in future flowerings? i'm not exactly sure how these things work, but i've heard some cattleya growers say that form often improves with time.

It is possible. I have marked the plant 'Not For Sale', as I want to see it bloom at least one more time.

The spotted Cattleya has been registered as Rlc. Naomi's Delight.

I originally purchased 2 plants, and the second one is coming into bloom now. This flower is not fully open yet; it will probably be a bit smaller, but it has far better shape (& spots).

Fairorchids – if the first orange flower that bloomed doesn't improve, what will you do with it? I was wondering what you do with inferior siblings in a cross generally.
