Flasking Services for Orchids
 

Does anyone know of any companies that provide flasking services in the USA? One lead I received from RF Orchids turned out to be dud. They require a minimum of 6 pods at a time (per year) from commercial growers to start an account. I was hoping to find other possible alternatives. Any leads?

Try Meyers Conservatory. They will do proprietary flasking. You must commit to buy three flasks @ $40 per. There are 25 plants in a flask. He does a seed assay for viability. Instructions on how to collect seeds are on the website. I don’t know if he does green pods.
I highly recommend him!

I'm looking for some one or company I can send my orchids seeds I bought to them.
That has everything already needed
to put them in flask and grow them.
And all I want is one flask each from each orchid seeds I send to them mailed back to me with free shipping.
They can keep all the other flask to sale or use for themselves.
You must send pictures and updates on how they are doing.
So I know that they are growing and I haven't been taken for the seeds I sent and not get anything for it.
I can send a list of the orchid seeds I have and the two I just bought.

There are several flasking services in the US, some commercial and some part-time by experienced hobby growers.

However, what you are asking for (photos & updates), is not practical for any of them. If you want that level of service, be prepared to pay 4-6 times the going rates (if you can even get anyone to agree to it).

Troy Meyers does a seed assay under a microscope to see if your seed is viable. A photo is posted in your account. You will also be able to see updates in your account on germination and re-flasking. You just owe $120 for 75 plants when they are ready.

I used Troy Meyers once, but I was not happy (seedlings were too small, when he chose to ship them).

Also, $120 for 75 seedlings is at least twice what it would be from some of the other flaskers ($25 for mother flask, and $15 each for 3 replates).
