Nice Flower Oscarman !

WOW!

I was looking through Oscarman's gallery... this one is amazing!!!

Among other things, being an amateur hobby entomologist, I can't help myself commenting on this...check out the perfect example of markings on the lip of the flower. I bet that if you'd look under UV light, these lines would glow like markings on a runway.

Just a great way of pointing an insect in the direction using the converging lines... Come here little specialized bug.... come get some some sweet nectar and I will hose you with some pollen.

I really wish I could take credit for this flower. It is outstanding. I have several clones of C. dowiana and C. aurea, including C. dowiana var. rosita. While I have stopped killing them, I have not been able to convince them to flower yet! Brassavola (Rhyncholaelia) digbyana would be another one - except I don't kill these!

The pictures are a continual reminder of my goal.

Sometimes what we don't see can be more amazing that what we do see. Marty, what do you think this flower is trying to tell the bugs.
