These photos are of the orchid called Rth. Dal's Success 'Michelle'.
I assume it was Dal (- extremely well-known grower/breeder David Arthur Littman, not with us anymore) that named this orchid. Somebody that knew him (or about him) can add something - whether or not 'Dal' stands for David Arthur Littman. I assume it does :) I have only heard and read of his excellent work with hybridisation of Catts type orchids in Australia. The open-flower photos were taken today ----- on the second day of opening. Only half-open at the end of day #1 (yesterday). It was maybe 5 or 6 months ago when the sheath was formed. The red stripe patterns in the throat is nice. Nice display of yellow too. Very nice to share photos of this flower on orchidboard. http://www.orchidboard.com/community...1&d=1563429165 http://www.orchidboard.com/community...1&d=1563429170 http://www.orchidboard.com/community...1&d=1563429170 http://www.orchidboard.com/community...1&d=1563429170 |

These photos were taken on the morning of day #3 of opening. Looking from various angles is nice. The previous day #2 flower-open photos were captured with afternoon sun --- nice difference in yellow colour intensity between morning photos and afternoon photos - depends on the sun's angle.

The flower is definitely matured now - even managed to somehow develop a 'beauty spot' right in the middle of the vertical sepal for some individuality. |
