Pollen Mite Tyrophagus
Anyone has an solution to pollen mite Tyrophagus? These microscopic mites attack flower pollen, causing buds and flowers to drop.
As they are smaller than red spider mite, you hardly notice them. Spray prove to be useless can chemical hardly get in contact with these pest which hide inside the flower buds. I like to upload a video but seems like I cannot |
What sprays have you tried?
A systemic miticide might do the trick; insecticides won't. |

systemic miticide: Any recommendations? How about ultra sound dust mite repeller? Anyone think this will work? |

Do you UV light will kill these pollen mites? Can UV penetrate the flower petals into the another cap to kill the mite? I also heard that ultrasound can get rid of dust mites? What do you think? Thanks for sharing....:) |
I know nothing about either approach, but have my doubts about both.
I really like a product called Azamax. it is a concentrated (1.2%) form of purified azadirachtin, the active ingredient in neem oil, which is highly variable, having anywhere from 0.05% to 0.3%. Azamax is a contact and systemic insecticide and miticide, yet is quite safe to use. |
