Strange Phal Keiki?
4 Attachment(s)
So I've had this Phal for a long time. I think it's called Sunset Love, but I'm not entirely sure. It has a beautiful color with multiple large blooms each time. They also seem to last forever!
I put some Keiki paste on it a while back, and I just noticed this odd little growth. It was hiding beneath one of the large leaves. Can anyone help me identify what it is? I'm including pictures of the plant itself. It's really beautiful. |
That's interesting for sure...cauliflower?

It looks like a little bundle of roots. Maybe as it grows larger, it will develop more structure.

Its undifferentiated plant tissue. Most often caused by using too much keiki paste or applying it more than once. The paste I have used says to apply it sparingly and only once as it is supposed to be waterproof. Don't know if yours is the same.
Keiki paste works best when the flower spike has finished its blooms and your plant is in an active growth cycle. Applying it when there are still blooms on the spike will generally, but not always, just produce another bloom spike. Two videos that I've found appear to be promising in getting keikis without the use of paste and is something that maybe worth trying.
