Keiki or Flower Spike on Phalaenopsis?
Hello! My name is Kyle, and this is my first post ever. I love this site, and I've been collecting orchids for a few years now. (My house looks like a jungle!)
I have a question for someone who's familiar with keikis. I applied keiki paste to several of my phals, and I've got some interesting things happening. Can anyone take a look at these pictures and let me know if any of them are the beginnings of a keiki? Thank you for any help you can provide. I really want some keikis, because I love the idea of watching orchids grow from babies. I'm not quite ready to try growing them from seeds. https://i.imgur.com/mteBmXC.jpg https://i.imgur.com/l5M5Kj9.jpg |
Looks like it to me. Good luck! Hope they develop well.

So here's an update for anyone interested. It actually turned out to be a flower spike I think. But it's all twisted and odd looking. Interesting huh?https://i.imgur.com/MDD8xp2.jpg

Make sure that you position plant in same spot as spikes and flowers will reach for light. Twisting is their way of reorientating and can damage appearance of buds and flowers you've worked so hard to achieve. :waving
