Got thirsty today

I got a bit thirsty today, so I ran out to grab a bottle of spring water.

Hipsters call that raw water.

There's actually a company that sells untreated, unfiltered spring water here for stupid prices.

Subrosa 01-27-2018 06:57 PM

If you read the back of a bottle of Deer Park spring water it lists various sources that the company uses. Two of them are Pine Grove PA and Hegins PA. They're about 15 miles apart as the crow flies, and he flies right over my house on the way in between. Locals have been drinking it as long as anyone can remember. Very nice to drink!

Looks like a nice refreshing drink to accompany your grilled, broiled, fried or whatever groundhog! Cheers

I got thirsty today, too. A nice bottle of wine took care of that, though...

I hope that's a spring that get tested for water quality on a regular basis.

Our Adam's Ale comes from a huge spring that flows through 1000's of feet of sand which makes it as clean and fresh as.

It is as sweet as and my plants love it. So do we for that matter.

We drank from springs when camping in the Appalachian mountains (PA) (state forest) when I was a kid. The springs were all located above the camps so I think the water would have been okay. Sometimes you just need to live a little and enjoy the bounty of nature. :)

There are allot of artisan wells in my area and on the Mountain. I have no problem drinking out of them.

greenpassion 01-30-2018 02:36 PM

I have two gravity fed spring well houses up on a bank in the woods behind my house. There is an over flow pipe that runs along the fence back there, and when I had some trees dropped this past summer this pipe was punctured by branches from these trees. Now there are two small springs flowing down into my yard, and the birds are loving it. They play and splash in it. I will have to have the pipe repaired come spring, but for now it's a nice thing to watch.

My go to place for cold, clear water. Ice too!

Dollythehun 01-30-2018 06:52 PM

Nice one!

I have an update! No coliform bacteria are present in this water source. Having drank it daily for the past 10 days, I'd know if it was present. I'll have an update of the analysis for Giardia in a few more days.

Subrosa 02-08-2018 10:56 AM

Update. The Giardia test is also negative. I would have reported this yesterday, but an ill-timed meal from Taco Bell the night before caused what I thought was, and indeed has turned out to be a false positive.

Dollythehun 02-08-2018 11:31 AM

A paradox: Taco Bell washed down with sparkling pure spring water. 🤔 Hmm...

That you were out of groundhog?

(Subrosa, you really bring out my worst sarcastic side, sorry. It is just so hard to resist.)

Dolly, this is priceless!!! I’ve been sitting on my hands trying not to reply. Bout the only thing I could add is, if you’ll eat Taco Bell you will probably eat groundhog or maybe the other way around. Then was it all down with a nice clean glass of your favorite beverage. Eeew

Taco Bell is the blue-dyed Phal of the Mexican food world.

Friends do say it is the very best thing when they have late-night munchies after herbal experiences.
