New Member Question on How to Post Photos
I am a new member but longtime Neofinetia grower.
I would like to post pictures of some of my neos which have given me great pleasure over the years but I have no idea how to do so. I have an iPad Air 2 which has a camera, but no PC. Can it be done without a PC? If so, can any of you supply me explicit step by step directions on how to do it? Initially it would be best if answered by a member who uploads photos to this forum by exclusive use of an iPad Air 2 and perhaps an app but not Photo Bucket with which I have had problems. Thank you. |
Most people need to make 5 posts total before they can post photos.
In the About This Forum forum there are detailed instructions for posting photos. I also just finished typing brief instructions in the thread dealing with "Should I buy this?" |
Thank you.

Created an Album
As a first step, I created an album but was only able to store one picture in it. I attempted to store about 6 and it appeared to be accepting them but after submitting it, and then viewing the album, only the first picture was in the album.
Any idea as to what I am doing wrong? |

Let's see if this works.
Pretty good for first attempt. Just have to view it while lying down. Will identify on next post. Thanks Mr. Seca |

Hello and welcome Shoreguy! Nice to see another Neo grower here! I see you’ve posted the ole sideways pictures, used to infuriate me! I take pictures with my iPhone and post with my iPad. The only work around for me is to edit or crop each picture on my iPad, in “my photos” just slightly will do, then the pictures load upright. I hope that works for you as well.
Nice Neofinetia, thanks for sharing! |
Thanks Pattywack
Will try that the next time around.

Open the photo in an image manipulation program. Rotate it 90 degrees. Save it. Rotate to the desired orientation and save. It will upload properly.

Estacion,
Thanks but I will be trying Paddywack's method first since there is a easily used cropping device on my iPad. ---------- Post added at 10:24 PM ---------- Previous post was at 10:16 PM ---------- Let's see if this works. But how can captions be attached to each photo? |
How can captions be attached for each photo?[COLOR="Silver"]

Welcome and some great blooms on your neofinetias.

There is a way to insert photos in defined places in the message. Click the Go Advanced button. Upload the photos. Write the message. Leave an extra space above the text you want under the photo. You can change the formatting of the caption text. Go to the text, and put the cursor where you want the photo. Click the paperclip icon above the text entry box. It's next to the white smiley face. Select the photo from the list.
Most people don't bother with this, because it's usually obvious from the text what is what. But sometimes, it's not. It's also a useful technique whe telling a story and illustrating the story. |
Am I correct that this doesn't apply to thumbnail pictures?
Is there a way to attach to thumbnails? |
I don't know. I've never tried thumbnail captions.
