Got some lovely bright colors at the garden :)

Here's the online album.

Leafmite 10-12-2016 04:42 PM

How wonderful they all are! It must be fun to step into your orchid area and having all those flowers greet you! :)

estación seca 10-13-2016 11:40 AM

Beautiful! Thank you.

charlesf6 10-13-2016 12:20 PM

Got more bloomers, and my fav is still my 6-year-old white Phal hybrid, it got much bigger and keeps growing buds non-stop these last few weeks :bowing :D

I don't remember if it's 6 or 10-year-old (because I got each of those 3 white Phals when my kids were born, and sadly 2 of them fall down during thunder storm and their stems got broken)

NKOrchid 10-15-2016 02:34 PM

They're amazing! :)

AvantGardner 10-15-2016 11:59 PM

Sentimental orchids are always the best kind of orchids. No matter what.

What a beautiful bunch of blooms.

Leafmite 10-24-2016 12:23 PM

Really gorgeous! :)

Tindomul 10-26-2016 02:45 PM

Wow, amazing stuff and great presentation!! Thanks for sharing.

AldianP 11-09-2016 10:01 PM

Following CambriaWhat's tutorial, I finally can take photos with black background using iPhone :bowing

Those pots are commonly sold here. 10 x 10 x 4 cm. We use them for Vanda and their hybrids so we their roots can grow freely. No medias means easier caring :)

The video is not mide, it was made by CambriaWhat, a senior member here.

Here's what they look like. Made Vanda care much easier.

Tindomul 11-10-2016 10:36 AM

Nice photos!! The background does improve the situation.

Thank you! And I can still use iPhone to shoot

The Eria hyacinthoides gets two more sets of buds :D

And these were 3 days ago:

Oh, thats kool that it's still going.

AldianP 11-17-2016 10:03 PM

I got this Doritis (or Phal) from my mom several years ago, and it grew so big, so I split it into 4 parts.

3 of them bloom, and I gave 1 to my father-in-law.

Now here's the trio:

Good pics and beautiful plants aplenty!

AldianP 11-20-2016 01:10 AM

Got these trio similar size flowers and orchids bloom at the same time

I should buy tripod for iPhone to get better photos, and remove the hanging wire, too

AldianP 11-23-2016 10:07 PM

This Neofinetia falcata has started to bloom two days ago.

And although this time I used tripod for the iPhone, it seems there's a limit of what iPhone can shoot compared to cameras. I still had difficulties on removing the textures and light reflection on the black background.

Very nice! I wonder whether that is a hybrid with Neofinetia falcata, and not the species.

charlesf6 11-23-2016 11:33 PM

I am so sorry but this thread is cracking me up with the "bloomer" heading!

Thanks! I mail ordered it as Neof. falcata and not sure if it's 100% species or hybrid. At least it's Vanda-mini-size :)

ula 11-24-2016 10:50 AM

They're all amazing, enjoy the fruits of your labor !

Tindomul 11-28-2016 12:06 PM

A healthy looking plant!

AldianP 12-04-2016 05:21 AM

Got a very pleasant surprise yesterday. I noticed that the Bulbophyllum kubahense just started to bloom and not just one, but two spikes!

I'll take more pics again a few days later when they get bigger

https://c1.staticflickr.com/6/5545/3...d4107d30_o.jpg

So while in the mood to setup up the tripod and black veil, I also took pics of Aerides odorata and Den. bracteosum. Yap, I just got a white umbrella and light clamp as well.

And then also some other purple flowers, a Den hybrid, two Doritis, and a Doritaenopsis

OMG, all gorgeous!!! Love that Bulbo and Dend.

AldianP 12-09-2016 02:47 AM

So happy seeing this Bulb. kubahense bloom

Well, there were two sets of buds... but only one blooms, while the other one dried up.

Nonetheless I didn't expect it to bloom so soon so I'm still very happy

To be honest I didn't expect it to bloom this soon. I thought it'll be next year or later. So it is a very nice surprise :)

Still waiting for it to bloom perfectly though.

estación seca 12-10-2016 04:42 PM

That's amazing! They resemble some Phals and Vandas. What is the scent? I wonder if they're competing for pollinators.

Thank you. The leaf is quite thick, similar to hybrid Phal.

There's a faint scent, quite neutral one. I only noticed it when I was taking its pic in a closed-room.

Somehow I missed to take this Dendrobium kingianum's pic last week, and the week before. So there's only one flower left...
