My office 'chids
We just got a new office, and of course I had to bring some of the orchids to make it more like home :)
Here's what's blooming right now: http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/2016...faa2cf3549.jpg Specifically, Dendrobium Burana Doll no. 7, which keeps dropping its cute little flowers before they open. Just repotted it and think I'll bring it home to rest and recover for a while. http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/2016...9a1dfc2008.jpg Den. Burana Stripe, which has a nice minty smell. http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/2016...0792c5f5d0.jpg Den. Emma Burana White. http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/2016...8ca87c480e.jpg And a toss-up between my favorite office companions at the moment: Miltassia Shelob 'Tolkein' (my first rebloom of this particular orchid) and Lc. Cluster Fire 'Cinnabar', which really does shine like a gemstone in the sun! http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/2016...b92405c443.jpg http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/2016...3536e5545e.jpg Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
Work. Not my favorite place. But blooming orchids must make it so much nicer. Yours are beautiful!
I am stuck in a windowless room all day, unfortunately. |
What a lovely bunch of blooming orchids!
|
So jealous! I am in a cubicle right next to a window, but it faces south and the girl next to me always closes the shades during the day...and there is too much drama in this office already that I will definitely NOT ask her to keep the shades open for a plant ;-/

Wonderful!

A lovely office and lovely flowers!
|
Beautiful. Love that Miltassia.
|
What a nice orchid garden!

Or maybe you could buy her an orchid! That way she would feel loved AND keep the window open for her own plant ;-) Thanks for your kind comments, everyone. Orchids do make it easier to come to work every day. And they've helped me strike up conversations and make friends at work, when people ask what the heck all those strange plants are doing in the sink! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
Wow... your orchids are STUNNING! Great job, I'm sure they make your work space feel much homier. :)
|
Very nice. I've filled my office with orchids also and it has made a big difference in my daily work life. Very relaxing to water the plants and look them over at moments of maximum stress.

So Beautiful!
|
Lovely!! I really like the Den!
|
That Cinnabar is stunning!
|
Thanks, guys! My office 'chids are putting on a much better show than the ones at home right now! I'd wager they're inspired by my hard work ;) They really do help keep my sanity levels nice and balanced during those particularly trying days.
The cinnabar was my favorite so far, but the blooms didn't last long, just a few weeks. The dens should last a lot longer, and now the catts are starting to bloom! Will post up a few more pix soon. |
A few more beauties to share.
http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/2016...f7952906bc.jpg This is Dendrobium Thongchai Gold x Candy Stripe http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/2016...cb2e4d6dd6.jpg Dendrobium Genting Royal. Cheery little blooms with a strong peppery scent. And this just opened up yesterday: http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/2016...20c0386353.jpg Pot. Hawaiian Prominence 'America' AM/AOS It has a nice velvety look about it that doesn't come across in the photo. It's just beginning to get a fragrance, which seems to be 'typical cattleya' scented.
