Introduction and current blooms
 

Hello OrchidBoard,

Being new to the forum, I figured I would introduce myself. My name is Mike, I live in Connecticut and do all of my growing via windowsill or shelving near windows. My primary interest is fragrant orchids(not just nice fragrant, but also stinky fragrant(bulbos)). Here are some photos of what's blooming in my kitchen.

Greetings and welcome. We might share similar growing conditions. I have a kitchen south window and grow lights that are the only options for those lucky enuf to share my home! But nice fotos and plants you have!

Though I have some miniature orchids that are not fragrant, I mostly collect fragrant orchids, too, including a few Bulbos. :)

Welcome ...Glad you are here. What is that Dendrobium?

Thanks all, what a warm welcome. I have definitely been bitten by the orchid bug! As things bloom and become ready to make divisions I will post trade items in classifieds. I can wait to become a member of this online community.

Hello from another windowsill grower!

Dendrobium thongChai gold. It blooms twice or three times a year for me. After this bloom I may divide it.

Wow, seems like a stout plant. How big is that blooming Den?

The pseudobulbs, or canes depending on who you ask are about 2' tall. The inflorescence above that.

Very cool. Do the SB's or canes grow that much in one year, or is it more of a growth and then maturation with flowering after ?
